2012.12.15 – Toyota introduced INAKA Backpacker as one of HIACE VAN users on its HIACE page. As you could see on the page, we are in “STORY 7.″
It was my first time to talk about VAN LIFE, using HIACE VAN as a base-camp. HIACE as my partner, I explore the countryside in Japan now.
Park my VAN as a mobile house, explore on foot in the countryside and go back home to my VAN. This is my VAN LIFE.
I started looking for a campervan from the fall of 2011 and met a staff of a HIACE customize builder company.
Our campervan builder is ANNEX. ANNEX customized HIACE Wagon GL to the campervan and named it “Family Wagon C.”
Because of my job as a publicist or PR, I always imaged HIACE as a transporter for TV station crew. When I was in Amakusa Kumamoto Prefecture Kyushu Japan, I met a traveler from Hokkaido with a HIACE campervan and was so surprised to see such a travel style that I followed him a few weeks.
It was my first time to see and impressed with such a traveler that I decided to implement HIACE to my backpacker travel style and use HIACE as a basecamp, mobile house, or mobile hub.
Since May of 2012, HIACE van has been my buddy!
