Homepage of the World’s First ALL Lacquer based Artwork “Shin Shitsu” in Japanese and English are completed. It’s been a great honor to work with these enthusiastic artists in Wajima.

Can you believe all the artworks on the page are made only by lacquer sap? “Shin Shitsu” is the artwork that is made by ALL lacquer from core to surface.

“Shin Shistu” is totally different from any conventional lacquerware and is a lacquered lump which utilizes lacquer’s property, polarized nature, and durability to the maximum.

Normally, lacquerware’s core is made of wooden material. However, for this new technique “Shin Shitsu,” wooden materials are not used at all for its base. And, only 100% Japanese lacquer sap is used for “core ,” detailed parts and surface.

Cost performance is not that great… it takes 8 to more than 20 years to make one product. However, they are just so beautiful and unique artwork that last for a lifetime… millions to billions of years.
