\nBrief explanation of this blog story: Arriving at a house of \u201cliving in a rural \/ countryside Anamizu Town\u201d trial migratory program \u2013 Interviewed by the largest regional newspaper Hokkoku Shimbun<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Today is our first day to actually experience living in a rural \/ countryside area Anamizu Town.<\/p>\n

Anamizu is a town by the Gulf of Nanao and on Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture*.\u3000<\/p>\n

We applied to experience the \u201cliving in a rural \/ countryside Anamizu Town\u201d trial migratory program. <\/p>\n

Its program\u2019s house is located in Tsubakizaki area. It is also located in the area called \u201cAnamizu Marina\u201d where there are lots of second or vacation houses. <\/p>\n

As we arrived management office of its program\u2019s house, we heard that there is a journalist from Hokkoku Shimbun (a regional newspaper in Ishikawa Pref. areas) coming here to interview some people who migrated to this area recently. <\/p>\n

Even though there is decline of population in rural areas in Japan generally including Anamizu in total, Tsubakizaki\u2019s (in Anamizu) population is gradually increasing. <\/p>\n

The journalist is planning to interview with some migrated people on attractive points of Tsubakizaki or Anamizu. <\/p>\n

So\u2026 a journalist is coming\u2026 since he is coming to interview some people\u2026 <\/p>\n

Why not interview us who are very attracted by Anamizu Town, right? Well, we decided to wait in the office of Anamizu Marina management office and see whether or not he would interview us as well.<\/p>\n

As we planned, he decided to interview us. He took some pictures of Yuka and I at the house we plan to live for two weeks and interviewed us on a background of our journey, our visit to Anamizu and so on. <\/p>\n

Excitingly, it will be publicized on the next day, January 5, one day before our birthday!<\/p>\n

By the way, while we waited for the journalist, we caught a few sea cucumbers or sea slugs. I don\u2019t really care for it, but Yuka loves it\u2026 <\/p>\n

So about this house of \u201cliving in a rural \/ countryside Anamizu Town trial migratory program,\u201d there are enough rooms and supplies such as couch, dining table, rice cooker, pans, oven, seasoning (such as salt, pepper, soy sauce, etc) to live for two weeks.<\/p>\n

View from its bath is great! We can see the Gulf of Nanao.<\/p>\n

After going to our new house and leaving our backpacks in our new house, we went to Nobuaki Nitta san\u2019s house (Nitta san is a department chief at Regional Planning Management Division of Anamizu Town municipal government.<\/p>\n

He is now a town councilor of Anamizu Town)). He gave us a box filled with some vegetables such as napa cabbage (hakusai), green onion (naganegi), Japanese mushroom (shiitake), Japanese radish (daikon) and onion (tamanegi) from his family\u2019s garden. <\/p>\n

Most importantly\u2026for us\u2026 he kindly gave us Japanese sake as well! Sake that Nitta san gave us were so good, especially, \u201cChikuha,\u201d \u201cJunmaishu (pure sake that is made without additional alcohol or sugar) Hiyaoroshi,\u201d \u201cDaiginjyo (local draft sake (containing more polished rice than regular sake)) Tedorigawa.\u201d<\/p>\n

Growing your own vegetable\u2026 catching fish\u2026 or whatever necessary to create your own lifestyle\u2026 <\/p>\n

This \u201chalf\u201d self-sufficient lifestyle, produce everything by yourself as much as you can, is our final goal of our lifestyle.<\/p>\n

*Ishikawa Prefecture is located on \u201cSea of Japan\u201d coast and its prefecture\u2019s most of northern part is Noto Peninsula.<\/p>\n
