First Shrine Visit \u201cHatsumode\u201d of the Year in Kamakura"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tonight, for New Year\u2019s visit \u201cHatsumode,\u201d I visited Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, known as the most important \u201cShinto\u201d Shrine in my hometown Kamakura, Home of the Samurai. Kamakura is also one of the most popular sightseeing spots in Japan. In addition, Kamakura is known as a small calm countryside town. Kamakura is close to Tokyo and could commute to city areas where many offices are. <\/p>\n\n<p>Back in 1192, Kamakura was the capital of Japan.
